Just left Twillingate and had an awesome two days with much thanks to the hospitality of Mark and Ruby. Their home is very inviting as a B&B. The rooms being mostly on the lower floor with a cozy common room allowed families to have private space when needed. Inviting guests to the upstairs dining area, kitchen, and deck made for great conversation with Mark, Ruby, and other guests. As for location, you could not ask for a better place. Their house is located right on the coast, perched high up on a knoll for a great view of the harbour. There is a small craft store and cafe almost next door and a well equipped variety store on the other side. The downtown stores are well within walking distance.

Ruby and Marc will probably remember me as "the Belgian woman who locked her car with the keys in it", but I will remember them and their B&B as one of my Newfoundland favourites. Upon arrival I immediately got information on hiking trails and where to eat the best lobster and I appreciated the small guest kitchen and sitting room as well. The breakfast was healthy and fresh, and while having so, we were treated with a slide show on the Twillingate area. And last but not least: the host were very helpful in solving the car issue!

I can't say enough about our hosts Ruby and Mark. They made you feel so welcome and part of their family. The breakfasts were so good and filling. The orange and coconut scones were delicious! When we arrived they were making strawberry jam. Mark got a spoon and let me try some, just like home. They made reservations for us before our arrival to see the last show for the season of the "Split Peas". They were both a wealth of information on where to eat and what to do in the area. We can't thank them enough for a wonderful stay.

This was our first trip to beautiful Newfoundland and Twillingate. Mark and Ruby have a beautiful spotlessly clean and comfortable home with a balcony looking out over the harbour. We even saw a National Geographic eco-ship anchored in the harbour .They were friendly, gracious hosts and suggested many sites for us to see,places to eat, etc. And their breakfasts were truly "gourmet "and plentiful - Home-made jams, scones, muffins and so beautifully presented.. We so enjoyed visiting with them and heartily recommend their accommodations.
